Armetha J. "Kitty" Black

Armetha J. “Kitty” Black, age 83, of New Paris, OH, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born November 25, 1928 in Preble County, OH to Charles R. and Waneda V. (Schmick) White. She worked at Personal Touch for over 24 years; was a member of the Harley Owner’s Group- Whitewater Valley Chapter, Richmond, IN; member of the G3 Preble Wings; and was a member of the V.F.W. New Paris, OH. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband Robert Straw and second husband William H. Black; sister Vivian Coffman; brother Adrian White; and special friend Ed Rethman. She is survived by her Son Chuck Straw of Herriman, TN, daughters Paula (John) Melling of Eaton, OH, Betsy (Bob) Czupryna of Uxbridge, MA; adopted son Joe (Pam) Schmidt of College Corner, OH; grandchildren Scott Melling, Kurt Melling, Jenna Foust, Katie Boyce, Robert Czupryna, Kara Czupryna and Sean Straw; 13 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sister-in-law Goldie White; niece Sandy White and numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the Girton Schimdt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Rev. Lowell Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris, OH. Friends will be received from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, May 7, 2012 at the funeral home.
