Betty Jo (Muncy) Shelton was born October 13, 1937, in Jackson County, Kentucky and departed this life on Saturday morning July 4, 2026, at Cypress Pointe Nursing Care at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Estill and Opal (Shepherd) Muncy.

Betty was married to John Earl Shelton and together had one son, J.E. 

John and J.E. both preceded her in death in 2018. In addition to her parents, her brother, Johnie Muncy, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by a brother, James C. Muncy of McKee, KY; a sister Bonnie Davis Isaacs of Lexington, KY; a host of nieces and nephews, as well as her loving church family at Calvary Baptist where she was a member for many years.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Calvary Baptist Church, 14 Dorsey Akers Drive, West Alexandria, OH with Pastor David Spears officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery in West Alexandria, OH.
