Beverly "Bev" Joan (Shilt) Daily, 81, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, in Dublin, Ohio.
Born on Valentine's Day 1945 to the late Sherman and Ruth (Estes) Shilt, Bev grew up in Dayton, Ohio, with her older sister, Marilyn. She was a 1963 graduate of Stebbins High School, where she was a majorette and played clarinet in the marching band.
Immediately following high school, Bev began her career as an administrator with the Fyr-Fyter Company in Dayton, Ohio. She then joined the Duriron Company as an administrator for the sales team, and later joined the DAYCO Corporation, rising through the ranks quickly thanks to her can-do attitude and meticulous attention to detail. At Duriron, she met Curtis E. "Curt" Daily, and they married in December 1969. Bev left the workplace in 1977, when a transfer took the family, including their two young children, to Brussels, Belgium.
Not speaking the language, Bev studied French, leaned on fellow American expats, and quickly made Brussels home. The family spent 12 wonderful years in Europe before returning to the U.S. in late 1989, settling in Springboro, Ohio. In 2000, Bev and Curt retired to Sarasota, Florida, to enjoy new grandchildren, boating, golf and sunshine. They moved again in 2005 to Panama City Beach, Florida. Following Curt's death in 2013, Bev returned home to Ohio.
Bev was devoted to her family and determined when it came to caring for those she loved. An amazing cook and an effortless host, she turned her home into a haven for all who visited. She loved to entertain, whether it was a house full of her children's friends or a formal dinner party for 50, she made everyone feel welcome, and each occasion memorable.
Whether caring for her beloved animals, teaching aerobics, playing tennis or pickleball, Bev was not one to sit still. She hunted antiques with friends, could name nearly every plant and flower in the garden, and was known as the "dog whisperer" for her way with her beloved Keeshonds and cats. She traveled the world extensively, visiting hundreds of cities on most continents, and loved reminiscing about those adventures. Her favorite times, though, were spent laughing together with her family.
Bev is survived by her children, Todd (Barb) Daily of Powell, Ohio, and Tricia English of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren Nathan (Mikayla), Noah and Austin English, Sloane (Kobe) Nourse, and Callen Daily; great-granddaughter Stevie English; her sister, Marilyn Zarndt of Fairborn, Ohio; and numerous extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis E. Daily; and her son-in-law, CPT Shawn English.
Interment will take place at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio, and a celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date.
