Bill J. Rigsby

Billie “Bill” J. Rigsby, age 89, of Gratis, OH passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at his residence in Gratis, OH. He was born May 7, 1932 in West Liberty, KY to the late Floyd and Florence (Blevins) Rigsby. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from ODOT in 1994, as an electrician. He was a member of the Deliverance Tabernacle Church in Middletown, OH. Bill enjoyed playing the guitar and singing bluegrass. He loved family time around the bonfire. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Virgina Rigsby; numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son William “Billy” (Diana) Rigsby of Gratis, OH; daughters Jenny Newkirk-Gilbert and Tammy (Dale) Smith both of Gratis, OH; grandchildren: Justin Newkirk, Tara Newport, Erica Zornes, Jessie Clark, Taylor Rigsby, Hayley Rigsby, Brittany Smith and Dustin Smith; 11 great grandchildren; brothers Bernel (Susie) Rigsby of Fort Meyers, FL, Bob Rigsby of Lenore, NC; sister Beverly Smith of Scottsburg, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home (formerly Lindloff-Zimmerman), 113 S. Ada Doty Street, Gratis, OH with Pastor David Zornes officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gratis, OH. A special thank you to Day City Hospice for their heartfelt care.
