Billy Joe Kinder

Billy Joe Kinder, age 68, of Brookville, OH and previously of Destin, FL passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Maple Gardens Nursing Center in Eaton. He was born April 8, 1957 in South Charleston, WV to the late Linsley Jackson and Irene Faye (Songer) Kinder.

Billy was a people person who didn’t know a stranger. He loved to make people laugh and tell jokes. He enjoyed listening to music of every genre, but namely Jimmy Buffett and Zach Brown Band. He was an avid sports fan, following teams like the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cincinnati Reds and the Dayton Flyers. He was a supervisor at Parker-Hannifin and later retired from LuLu’s in Destin where he worked in security.

He is survived by his son Zachary (Cait) Kinder and their children: Collin, Bianca and Beau, all of Omaha, NE; son Brandon Kinder and his children, all of Indiana; sister Dorothy (Tom) Mitchell of West Alexandria, OH; brothers Keith Kinder of Bay Minette, AL, Greg (Missy) Kinder of Stuart, FL and Kevin (Anitra) Kinder of Union, OH; special friends: Holly and Rich Applegate, Wade Manning, and Frank Schipper; two nieces and two nephews, and a large extended family in West Virginia.
