Cheryl Dean, of Union City, IN and a formerly a lifelong resident of Richmond, IN and Preble County, OH passed peacefully in her sleep on February 24, 2023 at the residence of her special friend Jim Miner in Scottsburg, IN under Hospice Care. Cheryl was born February 17, 1945 to Clarence and Frances Foster while growing up on a traditional Midwestern Ohio farm. Cheryl enjoyed the life of a homemaker providing daycare for numerous kids while raising her two sons, Michael and Cameron while married to her Husband Bill. Cheryl simply enjoyed all life had to offer, especially with the simple life of her family, her home and her gardens. To say she loved her family can never be stated enough and especially her granddaughters Michaela, Malea and Peyton. Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Dean; her brothers David (Joyce) Foster and Gene (Marilyn) Foster; and her loving and dear lifelong friend Susan “Susie” Polley. She leaves behind her sister Martha June (Pete) of Franklin, IN; her two sons, Michael Dean of Union City, IN and Cameron “Douglas” Dean of Richmond, IN; her very special granddaughters she so adored, Michaela Dean, Peyton Dean-Byrd (Clayton), Malea Dean and their mother, Dusty Dean as well as her granddaughter Courtney Lang (Eddie); her great grandchildren, Avery Byrd, Aubrey, Ellie, Killian and Kingston Lang; many special nieces and nephews; and her special friends and family to her: Joanie Wilson, Mary Adams, Jennifer Hatton and Mary Brumbaugh. To her church family there are so many she loved and enjoyed in life by her side. The family would like to give special thanks to her friend Jim Miner and Amedisys Hospice for the care, love and respect they so provided Cheryl and her family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 1:00 pm until time of funeral service at 2:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH.
