Conrad G. Yungbliut

January 27, 1936 — September 10, 2025

Eaton, OH

Conrad George Yungbliut, age 89, of Eaton, OH, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Reid Hospital in Richmond. He was born January 27, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA, to the late George and Emma (Konrad) Yungbliut. Conrad was a graduate of Pennington Prep School and Rutgers University. He served in the United States Army from April 1957 to April 1959 where he was stationed in France to decode radio signals. He was honorably discharged and began his career as a chemical engineer. He migrated west pursuing greater opportunities in his field and eventually met his 2nd wife, and life long partner Theresa (Schmitt) Yungbliut of 47 years after a 13 year marriage to Gwen (Gadek) Michaels. His largest life accomplishment, after serving as his family patriarch, was staying sober over 41 years and was an active participant in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) from the time he began until his death. His huge heart, giving nature and insightful wisdom made him the perfect candidate to counsel those in need of sponsorship and guidance. Conrad was as non-judgmental as they come and always looked for the good in people and in life. He touched the lives of so many through the years and will be dearly missed. He participated in several plays in Richmond and Greenville; his most famous being the lead role in Scrooge for the Richmond Civic Theatre in 1976. He was an avid participant in the Holiday Rambler and Friendly Folks RV Clubs for over 20 years and Preble Pride Dancers. He is survived by his wife; sons Larz Yungbliut of Traverse City, MI and Niles Yungbliut of Minneapolis, MN; daughter Hollis Yungbliut (Thomas Malone) of New York City; stepdaughters Marcy Little of Eaton and Stacy (Jeff) Capek of Fishers, IN; grandchildren Nathan Capek and Jackson Capek; and special cousin Jan King of Ontario, Canada. Family and friends will be received on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 4:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 6:00 pm at Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Lynn Mercer officiating.
