Dale C. Lanthrop

Dale C. Lanthrop, age 89, of Eaton, OH went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born January 7, 1937 in Lewisburg, OH to the late Glen and Opal (Shank) Lanthrop.

Dale proudly served in the US Army for 8 years. He was an avid football fan, especially Ohio State. He enjoyed gardening and mushroom hunting. He was a member of Grace Brethren Church in West Alexandria for 37 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Alberta Mae Lanthrop; son Timothy Lanthrop; brother John Lanthrop; and sisters Freda (George) Winkelman, Mary (Dale) Lutz and Evelyn (Robert) Deeter.

He is survived by his daughter Cherylan (Richard) Aebischer of Eaton; grandchildren Ashlyn (Kenneth) Aebsicher, Dakota Morris, Bradley (Brooklyn) Banis and Aaron Banis; great grandchildren Emberylnn Rusk, KJ Rusk, Sutter Rusk, Steffen Morris, Jackson Porter and Harper Porter; brother Ron Lanthrop; daughter-in-law Stephanie Lanthrop; special friends Sandy and Cathy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Elbert Sorrell officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton.
