Dale T. Moberly, age 90, of Eaton, OH passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 9, 2026 at the Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton. He was born September 5, 1935 in Berea, KY to the late William T. and Helen (Henderson) Moberly.
Dale was a 1954 graduate of Eaton High School. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran that served during the Korean War. After his military service, he started working at the Recreation Parlor in Eaton that he later purchased becoming Dale’s Recreation, owning and operating for over 30 years. He attended Eaton First Church of God; he coached Eaton Little League for many years; and was an active member of the Eaton Athletic Boosters for many years. For his dedication and hard work with a downtown business, he was awarded the Ray Potter Legacy Award by the Preble County Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed boating and traveling; loved eating ice cream; was a lifelong University of Kentucky Wildcats fan; and most of all he dearly loved his family and attending his children and grandchildren’s activities.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers-in-law Edith (Lewis) Taylor, Lelia (James) Wymer, Anna (Oscar) DeWulf, Linda O’Dell and Norma Mikesell; brother Michael Moberly; and sister-in-law Shirley Moberly.
He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Phyllis Moberly; daughter Belinda (Craig) Moormeier; son Dale (Jill) Moberly Jr; grandchildren Alex (Jennifer) Moormeier, Austin Moormeier and Kierigan Moberly; great granddaughter Madeline Moormeier; brother Charles Moberly; sisters and brothers-in-law Mabel (Joe) Shafer, Dorothy (Curtis) Early and Shirley (Jim) Jellison, Mel O’Dell and Richard Mikesell; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews
Visitation will be held Friday, February 13, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am at the Eaton First Church of God, 601 E. Lexington Road, Eaton, OH. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. Memorial contributions may be made to Bella Care Hospice or Eaton First Church of God.
