Dana J. Smith, age 65, of Eaton, OH passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024. Born in Dayton, OH to her loving parents Donald and Blanch Smith, Dana's presence in this world brought light and joy to all those around her.
Throughout her lifetime, Dana wore many hats. She had a passion for animals and trained horses with skill and grace. Her love for adventure led her to run a train and even captain a shrimp boat - showcasing her fearless spirit and determination. Dana also served her community as a dedicated police dispatcher for 12 years, where she earned several commendations for her performance in saving lives. She later became an invaluable member of the City of Eaton team, where she faithfully worked for over 30 years.
Beyond her impressive professional accomplishments, Dana was known for her free-spirited nature and love for the open road. As a proud owner of a Harley Davidson, she was an active member of a Harley Club, where she formed lasting friendships and shared unforgettable moments with fellow enthusiasts. Dana also earned her black belt in Shorin-Ryu Karate.
In the hearts of those who survive Dana, including her sister Gina Brittenham, niece Autumn (Nikolas) Soder, and special friends Zac and Amanda Wilson, Dana's memory will forever hold a cherished place.
She was preceded in death by her nephew Shawn Michael "Mikey" Burnside and former husband Haran Lewis.
Dana J. Smith's legacy is one of resilience, passion, and unwavering spirit. Her kindness will be remembered through generations, and her love will continue to blossom in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
