Darrel Wooton

Darrel Wooton, age 80, of New Paris, OH passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at home surrounded by his family. He was born August 24, 1945 in Hyden, KY to the late Roy and Mary (Huff) Wooton.

Darrel graduated from high school in Hawaii where he was living with his brother. He was a US Army veteran, being involved with many activities while he was there including running track and singing in the choir. He was employed in corrugated paper, working for several companies over the years until his retirement from Packing Corporation of America. He and his wife Sheila moved around often for his career and got to enjoy spending some time in the South. Upon their return to Preble County, Darrel was able to make a difference as a production manager for L&M Products in Eaton, where many of his clients loved and appreciated him. You would often see him outside mowing and taking care of his lawn, always keeping it immaculate. Some of his hobbies included going to antique car shows and enthusiastically supporting the Kentucky Wildcats. One of the greatest joys of his life was spending time with his cherished grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother Bud Wooton; older sister Clara Butler; and younger brother Ronnie Wooton.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sheila Wooton; daughter Amy (Doug) Arnold; grandchildren Hayley (Travis) Williams and Isaac Arnold; great grandson Mack Williams; several brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the New Hope Church, 5367 US 35, Eaton, OH 45320.
