David E. Bell

David E. Bell, age 87, of Eaton, OH passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Vancrest of Eaton Health Care Center.  He was born June 29, 1933 in Preble County to the late Hubert and Ruth (Eikenberry) Bell.  He attended the Eaton Community Church.  He worked for over 20 years in law enforcement as a police officer for the City of Eaton, Special Deputy for the Preble County Sheriff’s office and also as a Preble County Court Bailiff.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Brian Bell and infant son Brent Bell; daughter Cindy Flory; infant grandson James David “Jaime” Flory; brother Robert (Katherine) Bell; sisters Mary Lou Keehner and Sandy (Bob) Ball; and nephews Rick Keehner and Mike Bell.  He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sherry Bell of Eaton; son Bruce Bell of Eaton, OH; two grandsons Joshua Lakes of Cambridge, OH and Richard Benge of Missouri; step grandchildren Jason Flory of Sidney, OH and Jennifer Flory-Morrissey of Arab, Alabama; brother-in-law Bill Keehner of Eaton; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of special friends. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 11:00 am until time of memorial service at 12:00 noon at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Stan VanAusdal and Pastor George Glaze officiating.  Interment will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton.  In lieu of flowers, simply please perform an act of kindness toward someone else in David’s memory.  Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent to the family by visiting www.gsbfuneralhome.com.
