David John Schell

David John Schell, 76, late husband to Anne Marie Miller Schell, of Lyman, passed away on July 29, 2019.  Born in Dayton, OH he was the son of the late Donald Edwin Schell and Henrietta Hilda Marie Busse Schell. David served his country for 4 years in the Marine Corps. He was formally a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at Holly Springs Baptist Church. After Holly Springs David became a member of the care/prayer team at New Spring Church, Spartanburg. He was also an associate with Operation Save America and did some missionary work over in Russia.  In addition to his wife, Anne, of 56 years, David is survived by two sons; Steven John Schell and Paul Ryan Schell; one brother Douglas E. Schell and three sisters JoEllen Schell Lindloff (Lysle), Jill Utz and Jean Beneke (Wayne); 9 grandchildren; Natalie Talbot, Chris Schell, Rachel Moreno, Levi Schell, Becca Schell, Jessica Schell, Katie Schell and Benjamin Schell; 6 great grandchildren; Mackenzie and Aulbrey Hammond, Jazmyn and Layla Talbot, and Harper and Kyler Schell. He was preceded in death by his sister – in – law Wanda Schell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Foundation, PO Box 2624 Spartanburg, SC 29304 or The Sarcoma Foundation of America PO Box 98160 Washington, D.C. 20090 – 8160. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 6:30 pm at Living Waters Funeral Home & Crematory, 529 Spartanburg Hwy. S., Lyman, SC 29365, with Pastor Tim Clark, Pastor Drew Malone and Pastor Bruce Terry officiating.
