Edwin L. Bowman

May 17, 1965 — April 11, 2025

Eaton, OH

Edwin Leroy Bowman…the youngest son of Karl and Ruth Ellen (Metzger) Bowman was born in Dayton, OH, on May 17th, 1965. On June 25th, 1988, he married the love of his life, Sharon Wray, at her parents’ home. They were blessed with 3 sons and 1 daughter and shared over 36 years of married life. Most of their married life was spent on or close to the family farm.

Feeling the need of a personal savior, Dad along with Mom, was baptized into the Old German Baptist Church on August 2nd, 1989 to which he remained faithful.

Dad was a farmer all of his life. He left us a legacy of hard work, persistence, and finding satisfaction in a job well done. His strong love for his church and family and especially "his babies,” (grandchildren), could be seen by all he came in contact with. In recent years he was involved in excavating, and being close to nature made him feel close to God.

After suffering an aortic dissection, in the presence of his family, Dad answered the call of his Master, and passed to his eternal reward on April 11th, 2025, making his sojourn 59 years, 10 months and 24 days.

He is survived by his loving companion, four children, Brenton (Moriah), Quentin (Courtney), Lynae (Garett) Filbrun, and Caleb (Cindy); 12 precious grandchildren, Hudson, Avelyn, and Caffrey Bowman, Peyton, Rhys, Tacy and Toby Bowman, Shaylee, Mylie and Leo Filbrun, and Frank and Lucille Bowman. Two sisters, Cheryl (Gordon) Denlinger and Debbie, one brother, Michael (Janice); Parents-in-law Ezra and Beverly Wray, sister-in-law Darlene (Joe) Montgomery, brother-in-law Eldon (Stacy) Wray, and many nieces and nephews to whom was special. Proceeding him in death were his parents and a grandson, Harbin Bowman.

Though his passing was sudden, we know God’s timing is perfect. We’ll praise him for all that is past and trust him for all that is to come.
