Gary Pieratt

Gary Pieratt, age 78, of Eaton, OH, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022 at his home.  He was born July 12, 1944 in Dayton, OH to the late Woodford and Imogene Pieratt.  Gary was a 1962 graduate of Verona High School and earned his Pharmacist Degree from Ohio Northern University in 1967.  He served the community well as the owner and operator of Gary’s Pharmacy for 37 years.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed photography.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Martin Pieratt; son-in-law John Young; and brother-in-law Leland Vance. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Roxanne Pieratt of Eaton; daughter Carolina Young of Jacksonville, FL; son Darren (Dawn) Smith of Clayton, OH; son Clifford (Glenda) Smith of Lewisburg, OH; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brothers Joe (Diane) Pieratt of Gratis, OH and Tom (Jennifer) Pieratt of Washington Courthouse, OH; sister Jennifer Vance of Brookville, OH; and several nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH.  A graveside service will follow at 1:30 pm on Friday at Mound Hill Cemetery (new section) in Eaton with Pastor Elbert Sorrell officiating.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the Preble County Council on Aging, 800 E.
