Grace Ann Fleming Glimmerveen

Richmond Hill, GA

Grace Ann Fleming Glimmerveen, cherished wife, mother, sister, and grandmother passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on December 27, 2022 in Richmond Hill, GA.  Grace was the daughter of Glen and Joyce Fleming (deceased) and was a graduate of Twin Valley South HS.  She attended Austin Peay University and Armstrong Atlantic State University, achieving a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in adult education. She was an academic advisor at Georgia Southern University and author of two works of fiction, “A Celebrity Wedding at Flowery Branch,” and “Paranormal Solved”. She also wrote a nonfiction history of her favorite city, Savannah, titled “A History of Misbehavior”.  Grace was an avid, lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals.  She is survived by beloved husband John Glimmerveen, daughter Bethany Robbins, and granddaughter Lucy Robbins-Rice.  She is also survived by sisters, Glenna Cunningham, Mary Fleming Reed, Judy (Barry) Austin, Barbara (Randy) Wright, Susan Galliher (Bob Scott), Laura Kasserman, Bonnie (Ernest) Crabtree, and brother Brian David (Cindra) Fleming and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  A sister, Carole McPheron and nephews Dan Woodard and Joe Kasserman preceded her in death. Her memory will be honored at a memorial service in Richmond Hill and graveside memorial service in Ohio at Beechwood Cemetery in Morning Sun at the convenience of the family. Gard Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
