James D. Parks

James D. Parks, age 81, of Eaton, OH passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, OH.  He was born August 8, 1941 in Richmond, IN to the late Herman and Sara Parks.  Jim was a 1959 graduate of Monroe High School and earned his associates degree from Miami-Jacobs College; was a U.S. Navy Veteran; member of Wares Chapel United Methodist Church; and retired from Interstate Ford Dealer in Miamisburg, OH.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joanne Parks of Eaton; daughters Anita Hoying of Cincinnati and Deanna Parks of Eaton; grandchildren Josh (Kate) Hoying of Cincinnati and Megan Hoying (fiancé Shane Walton) of Cincinnati; great grandchildren Grace Hoying and Rose Hoying of Cincinnati; brothers Richard (Peggy) Parks of Eaton and Ted (Barbara) Parks of Cincinnati; and several nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 10:00 am until time of memorial service at 11:00 am at Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH with Rev. Kenneth Stewart officiating.  Interment will follow at Wares Chapel Cemetery in West Manchester, OH.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the Monroe Township Food Bank, 1060 Foos Road, West Manchester, OH 45382.  Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent by visiting www.gardfuneralhome.com.
