Janice L. Wells

Janice L. (Hannan) Wells, age 85, of Eaton, OH, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Gateway Springs in Hamilton, OH.  She was born March 3, 1938, in Cincinnati, OH to the late Robert and Ruth Hannan.  She was a 1958 graduate of Anderson High School. She was a loving wife, mom, sister, and grandmother who enjoyed shopping excursions, redecorating her home, sewing clothing, wedding dresses, and costumes, and having sleepovers for her grandchildren. She and Richard enjoyed traveling and were able to visit Hawaii, Cancun, England, Ireland, and Germany. They also played golf at a wide variety of courses, winning several couple’s tournaments. Both Janice and Richard were long time members of Eaton Country Club.  Janice was one of the founding members of the Ladies Twilight Golf League. While she lived in Eaton, she worked for several local businesses including Eaton National Bank, McFalls Furniture, and Richland Interiors.  After her retirement, she was an active member of Sugar Valley Methodist Church and spent much of her free time with her grandchildren.  She was proceeded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard Wells of Eaton. She is survived by their daughters Victoria (Gary) Johnson of Fairfield, OH and daughter Jane (Chester) Smith of Oxford, OH; grandchildren: Ali Johnson (Kevin Cook) of Delhi, OH, Justin (Betsy) Smith of College Corner, OH, Joe Johnson (Devin) of Cincinnati, OH and Jordan (Cory) Smith-Jordan of Cincinnati, Ohio; great grandchildren Hazel, Liam, Ava and Brian; sisters June Ditchen and Judy Myers of Bethel, OH: sisters-in-laws Liz (Bob) Harrod of Cincinnati, OH and Mary Ellis of Cincinnati, OH; brother-in-law Doug Wells of Burlington, KY; and many nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held Friday, August 11^th from 12:30 until time of funeral service at 1:30 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Gerald Sadai officiating.  Memorial contributions may be sent to: The Wells Memorial 3261 Greenwich Dr. Fairfield, Ohio 45014 https://www.wellsmemorialfund.com/.  Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent to the family by visiting www.gardfuneralhome.com.
