Jerlene Faye White, age 93, of West Alexandria, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 7th, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born June 16th, 1933 in Dunmor, Kentucky, to Archie and Eula (Cockrell) McPherson.
Though Ohio became her home, Kentucky never stopped being a part of who she was. Muhlenberg County was a beloved place she and her family frequently visited and cherished deeply. Going riding in the woods, cooking meals over the fire, playing card games late at night, and sleeping in the cabins became a sacred family tradition and one of the greatest gifts she left to those she loved. Jerlene passed the land on to her children, ensuring this special place would continue to bring the family together for years.
Jerlene married the love of her life, Earl, on July 30th, 1950. Their marriage was filled with love, kindness, and devotion. They never fought and shared a bond that remained strong throughout their lives. Though he passed before many of their grandchildren were born, she carried his love in her heart for the rest of her life.
Of all the roles she held in life, being a mom and grandma was one of her greatest joys. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and created a home where everyone was welcomed, loved, and cared for. Whether she was playing games around the table, baking cookies together, or simply spending time with them, she created memories that will live on in their hearts forever.
She spent countless hours tending her garden, canning vegetables from each harvest, and preparing delicious home-cooked meals for her family. Her kitchen was filled with the comforting smell of fresh cookies and family recipes made with love. She also had a remarkable talent for crocheting beautiful blankets which she would often gift to her children and grandchildren.
Jerlene was preceded in death by her parents Archie and Eula McPherson, husband Earl White, sister Wanda White, and great grandson Clifton Atticus White.
She is survived by her children, Wayne (Nancy) White, Garry (Brenda) White, Rick (Kathy) White, and Sue (Dave) Roark; grandchildren, Jennifer White, Jeffrey White, Stacy (Josh) Brown, Jackie (Brent) Bowen, Ricky White, Ryan (Courtney) Roark, Tiffany (John) Rinehart, Ashley (Steven) Livingston, and Josh (Kate Roberts) Roark; great grandchildren, Zackary White, Gabriella and Gwendolyn White-Bowles, Dylan, Isabella, and Brody Bowen, Hayden White, Brenon, Archie, and Miles Livingston, and Molly and Hydie Roark; and great-great grandchildren, Khloe and Tristan White.
Her greatest legacy is the family she loved so deeply.
