Joni Lou Gartrell

Joni Lou Gartrell, age 69, of Eaton, OH passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on December 25, 1956 in Dayton, OH to the late James and Marvel (Watson) Jordan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas M. Brush; second husband Richard G. Hancock; third husband Terry L. Gartrell, whom she married May 6, 1995; and daughter-in-law Bobbi Brush.

She is survived by her children Bonnie (Ty Arnold) Brush, Thomas J. Brush and Cliff Hawkins; grandchildren Caila Charles, Jamie Charles, Evan Hawkins, Edward Hawkins and Mae Charles; sister Julie (Gary) Thacker; niece Emily (Colin) West; nephew Austin Shock; and cousins Cheryl Mikesell, Rhonda Azbill and December Harper.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 1:30 pm at Fairview Cemetery in Gratis. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Preble County, 951 S.
