Joyce L. "Joy" Michael

Joyce L. “Joy” Michael, age 89, of Springboro, OH and formerly of Gratis, OH went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at BeeHive Homes of Springboro. Joy was a wonderful wife, mother and Grandma who was always there when she was needed. She loved God and her family. She enjoyed crocheting baby afghans and making shawls for the ladies at the Beehive. She loved all sports but the Cincinnati Reds were always her favorite. She was loved and will be missed terribly. Many said her name suited her, she brought “Joy” into everyone’s life. She was born May 20, 1933 in Pineville, KY to the late Clarence and Ethel McCloud. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Wallace D. “Wally” Michael; and eight siblings. She is survived by her children: Wade (Lydia) Michael, Susan (John) Bertics, Kirk (Michele) Michael, Mark (Denise) Michael and Aaron Michael; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery in Gratis, OH.  Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gratis is assisting with arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be sent to Day City Hospice 7601 Paragon Rd Suite 203, Dayton Ohio 45459.
