Kathryn Maddock Worley

April 30, 1923 — October 20, 2011

Kathryn Maddock Worley of Eaton, OH passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Vancrest Health Care Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born April 30, 1923, she recently celebrated her 88th birthday. She was the daughter of the late Lotha Watts Maddock and Earl C. Maddock. Katie lived her entire life in Preble County, graduating from Jackson High School. She was employed in Richmond, IN and a short time at General Motors in Dayton, OH. During and after WWII she volunteered at Miami Valley Hospital. She was a longtime member of the Eaton United Church of Christ, Eaton Country Club, Miami Valley Golf Club and Miami Valley Hospital Volunteers Key Club. She was a generous supporter of her church and numerous charitable groups. Katie was devoted to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister Vera Jean Maddock Hunsucker. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Frank Worley of Eaton, OH; sister Margaret Cullers of Greenville, OH; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 24, 2011, at the Eaton United Church of Christ, 113 West Decatur Street, Eaton, OH with Rev. Roger Stine officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton, OH. Friends will be received from 4 – 7 P.M. on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Eaton United Church of Christ or Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420.
