It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kevin Dean Taggart, aged 56, on March
27th, 2024. Born to Larry Taggart and Linda Alexander in Hamilton, Ohio, Kevin’s life was a testament to
the joy of music, the peace found in nature, and most importantly, the deep love for his family.
Kevin grew up surrounded by music, an avid fan of Elvis and Judas Priest, whose tunes became the
soundtrack of his life's most memorable moments. An outdoor enthusiast, he cherished the times he
could fish and hunt, embracing the tranquility of nature. However, it was his role as a devoted husband,
father, and grandfather that Kevin held most dear. His legacy is his family, whom he loved with every
ounce of his being.
Throughout his life, Kevin found strength and joy in his friendships, especially with his best friend Tony.
His career at Miami University in the housing department was marked by dedication until illness brought
new challenges. Despite these, Kevin's indomitable spirit never wavered.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Brenda of 18 years; his children Kevin Jr, Cody, Erica, Jordan
(Erica), Kaity (Anthony), and Maddy; his adored grandchildren Serenity, Megan, Dean, Wyatt, & Lincoln;
his brothers Darrel (Dana), Steve; his sister Lori (Paul); his nieces and nephews whom he adored, and
his mother Linda. Preceding him in death were his father Larry, and his grandparents Ina & Earl.
A passionate Cincinnati Bengals fan, Kevin’s enthusiasm for his team was a source of excitement and
happiness. In his later years, Kevin devoted himself to creating joyful memories with his grandchildren,
embodying the role of a playful and loving grandfather.
A graveside service to celebrate Kevin’s life will be held on April 9th at 2:00 PM at Darrtown Cemetery.
Friends and family are invited to join us in remembering a life so beautifully lived.
In reflection of Kevin’s courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, the family suggests that donations in
his memory be made to organizations dedicated to Pulmonary Fibrosis research. This gesture continues
the fight against the illness that Kevin faced with remarkable courage.
Kevin’s laughter, love, and legacy of family and friendship will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in
peace, forever surrounded by the music he so loved.
