Linden B. Harter, age 90, of West Manchester, OH passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Brookdale Senior Living in Greenville, OH. He was born June 9, 1936 in Wayne County, IN to the late Lowell and Lilian (Miller) Harter.
Linden graduated from Monroe High School in 1954 and served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961. Following his military service, he dedicated 40 years of employment to Corning Glass in Greenville, OH where he built a career marked by hard work and commitment. In retirement, Linden thoroughly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures.
Linden loved traveling and making memories with his beloved wife, Barbara. They enjoyed attending concerts and traveling. He especially loved taking his grandchildren rides on the golf cart to search for treasures together. He and his wife also looked forward each year to attending the Indianapolis 500 time trials, a tradition he enjoyed sharing with his grandchildren, creating memories they will always treasure.
Above all, Linden valued the time he spent with his family. His grandchildren will remember the golf cart adventures they shared with him and the many trips they shared with Grandma and Grandpa. His great grandchildren will remember Grandpa always asking if they would give him five each time they visited with him – a simple gesture that perfectly reflected Linden’s warmth, love and playful spirit.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of whom he was married to for 64 years, Barbara Harter.
He is survived by his son Ned (Amy) Harter of West Manchester; grandchildren Joel (Jamie) Harter of West Manchester, Aaron Harter of Arcanum, OH, Britani (Larry) Adkins of West Manchester and Ashley (Zac) Cottingim of Lewisburg, OH; great grandchildren Landen Harter, Levi Harter, Suhmer Adkins, Audrey Adkins, Kylah Adkins, Clayton Adkins, Jillian Adkins, Charleigh Ullery, and Sutton Ullery; great-great grandson Oliver Adkins; niece Cindy (Tim) Balzer of Franklin, OH; great nephews Brad Fletcher of Middletown, OH and Todd Fletcher of Franklin; and great niece Katie Fletcher of Franklin.
