Lloyd Alvin Strike, of Eaton, OH, passed away at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, OH, on Saturday, July 18, 2026. He was 83 years, 7 months, and 6 days. He was born December 12, 1942, in Chambersburg, PA, to Ray and Myrtle (Garber) Strike. He was baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Falling Spring district, on August 23, 1959, to which he remained faithful unto death.
Lloyd chose Mary Ruth Wolf, the daughter of Charles and Virgie (Barnhart) Wolf, as his life companion. They were united in marriage on June 14, 1964, at her home. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for more than 55 years until mother’s death on April 27, 2020. They made their home in the Lower Twin district and served the church in various responsibilities.
We remember daddy for his tender heartedness and compassion for others, his willingness to help anyone in need, and the less fortunate. He also had a strong love for the church and for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He had a strong work ethic and a great love for singing. Throughout his life Daddy enjoyed and tenderly cared for his many farm animals and enjoyed everything about life on the farm. He also drove a school bus for over 30 years. He received the anointing, which gave him much comfort.
He will be missed by his 3 sons: Alan (Rosanna) Strike, Gary (Jackie) Strike, Daryl (Larisa) Strike; 15 grandchildren & companions; 24 great grandchildren; 1 brother Eldon (Jane) Strike; 1 sister Elsie Mae (Keith) Martin; 1 brother-in-law Marlin (Lorraine) Spurrier and 1 sister-in-law Edna Mae Thomas. In addition to his parents and his father- and mother-in-law, he was preceded in death by his companion Mary Ruth, a son Larry Dean Strike, a daughter-in-law Judy K Strike, a grandson Jonathon Lee Strike, 1 brother Carl J. Strike, 1 sister Ada Catherine Spurrier, 1 brother-in-law Robert Thomas, and 2 sisters-in-law Esther Strike and Pat Strike.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Lower Twin Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Quaker Trace Road, Camden, OH.
