Lonnie "Sue" Rivers

Lonnie “Sue” Rivers, age 85, of West Alexandria, OH passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026. She was born July 24, 1941 in Beattyville, KY to the late Donald and Effie (Oliver) Green.

Sue was the owner of South Main Beauty Salon for over 30 years where she spent much of her life making others feel beautiful. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #322 of West Alexandria, Coterie Club, and volunteered with the Lions Club. Sue loved making so many people smile while playing Mrs. Clause. Throughout her life, Sue was also an avid traveler, especially spending time in Florida.

Sue had a way of bringing light to every room she entered, making everyone feel welcome, loved, and at home. She loved gathering with family and friends, sharing laughs, and enjoying a cold beer together. Above all, Sue loved her family more than anything, and her kindness, warmth, giggles, and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Forest “Red” Rivers; brothers John and Donald B. Green; sister Wanda L. Green; nephew Randy Riege; and great grandson Curtis Gregory.

She is survived by her sons: Curtis G. (Becky) Rivers of Germantown, Rick L. (Suzanne) Rivers of Eaton and Jeffrey S. (Tina) Rivers of West Alexandria; grandchildren: Taira (Jeff) Suchland, Drew (Jessica) Rivers, Kaelee (Brett) Sizemore, Samantha Rivers, Dylan (Megan) Rivers, Jared (Madison) Rivers and Jordan Rivers; fifteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, August 6th, 2026 at Fairview Cemetery in West Alexandria . Gard Funeral Home, West Alexandria is assisting the family with arrangements.
