Marlys H. Ratliff, age 96, has arrived at Heaven's shore. She was a beloved, talented, kind-hearted Norwegian American.
Born of Helga and Edward Hauge, in Ideal Twp, MN, she married Jim Ratliff, in 1942. She worked on their Preble County family farm and at Westvaco, Eaton, OH. Marlys was a accomplished Nordic baker, seamstress, traveler and lover of nature.
Her 4 children (Dan, Jim, John and Mary) produced 8 grandkids and 12 great-grandkids. She has one sibling living in Cedar, MN. (Anna Marie Goane).
Marlys is preceded in death by both parents, 5 siblings: Orville, Donald, Marvin (her twin), George Hauge and Ethel Kregel, husband Jim Ratliff and 2 sons: James E. Ratliff and John T. Ratliff.
She has lived with Mary and Dave Graham for the past 6 years, in FL. The Graham family of 18 total, loved their days with Marlys. She delighted in singing Norwegian songs and calls to dinner for her grown grandkids: Kari (JC), Kim (Dean), Otto (Heather), Kent (Mary) and their 8 beautiful children. Her Ohio family consists of: Dan (Connie), Kate (Dan), Rebecca, daughter-in-law Carolyn Ratliff, Heather, Holly (Grant).

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Twin Valley Cemetery in West Alexandria, OH.
