Mary E. Ashford

Mary E. Ashford, age 84, of Gratis, OH passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 at the Atrium Medical Center in Middletown. She was born March 23, 1942 in Hamilton, OH.

Mary enjoyed metal detecting and going fishing, especially with her grandchildren. She loved her family dearly and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Eva Potter; husband Donald J. Ashford, Sr; sisters Barbara Montique and Ethel Robinson; and stepdaughter Donna Scott.

She is survived by her children Donald J. (Crystal) Ashford, Jr. and Penny (Aric Shock) Kincaid; grandchildren Randall Ashford, Alyssa (Nick) Tolbert, Patrick Ashford, Angela (Eric) Snell, Jonathan Hacker, Ashley (Christopher) Gentry, Eddie (Katie) Kincaid; 1 great grandchild on Don’s side, 10 great grandchildren on Penny’s side; 2 great great grandchildren on Penny’s side; and sister Wanda Robinson.

She is also survived by her stepson Donald Wayne (Pat) Ashford; 8 step-grandchildren; and 11 step great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 113 Ada Doty Street, Gratis, OH.
