Mary “Pug” Elizabeth Weadick, age 84, of Eaton, passed away peacefully July 12, 2026 at Vancrest of Eaton Nursing Center. Pug was born in Gratis, Ohio to the late Ernie and Nellie Creech.
Along with her parents, her brothers Ozzy and Bob and sister Helen and niece Becky are welcoming her to her heavenly home.
She graduated from Gratis High School in 1960, where she was a cheerleader for many years. She spent many years delivering the mail and driving a school bus for the Eaton City school district. She was a lifelong member of Gratis Methodist Church. She enjoyed snow birding in Okeechobee, Florida for many years and traveling. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing the crossword puzzles found in the daily newspapers while having her morning coffee. Pug was a well-known collector of all things Pepsi. Her collections took her and Dan to many places to buy and sell highly sought after collectables. Her taste in music was a reflection of her vibrant personality with Elvis Presley being her favorite. She loved Elvis and near the end of her life found great comfort in listening to him sing. She dearly loved her dog, Izzy and her cat, Itty. She loved to bird watch from her kitchen table and drive their ATV through the woods on their property.
She is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Weadick, daughter Joan Moore of Eaton and son John (Judy) Essig of Michigan, sister Vic Creech and numerous nieces and nephews. Pug is also survived by 3 step-children, Mark (Lisa), Andy (Shari) and Pat Weadick of Ohio, 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who supported Pug during her illness by visiting, calling, cooking and praying for her.
