Melvin Purvis

PURVIS, Melvin, age 75 of West Alexandria, OH. died Wed. Mar. 28, 2018 in Dayton.  He was born June 17, 1942 to Willie and Hazel (Sheard) Purvis.  He had been self employed and worked construction for many years. Melvin was a Vietnam Army Veteran and served from 1964 to 1966. He is survived by 2 brothers, Larry Purvis (Georgia), West Alexandria, OH., Terry (Linda) Purvis, New Madison, OH., 3 sisters, Wanda Jean Chaney, Conway, SC., Carolyn Howell, and Jolene Brittingham, both of Huber Heights, OH. and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Lorena Purvis, Mildred Marie Purvis and 2 brothers, Ernie Purvis and Keith Purvis.  Services will be 1pm Tues, Apr, 10, 2018 at Dayton V,A, National Cemetery.    Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria,OH.
