Merle Compton

Merle Compton, age 67, of Eaton, OH  passed away Monday, January 18, 2021.  He was born September 5, 1953 in Middletown, OH to Betty Compton and the late Charles Compton.  He was a member of the Northside Chapel Church of God in Camden where he enjoyed singing in the choir.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Keith Compton.  He is survived by his mother Betty Compton of Eaton; wife of 33 years, Mary Compton of Eaton; son Mike (Christine) Compton of Trenton; daughter Christina (Mike) Johnson of Richmond; daughter Dottie (Tony) Blade of Lynn, IN; son Jason Simpson of Middletown; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sister Lisa (Larry) Strong of Camden; brother Darryl Compton of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 12:30 pm until time of funeral service at 1:30 pm at the Northside Chapel First Church of God, 6820 North Main Street, Camden, OH 45311 with Pastor David Oakley officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Camden.  Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton is assisting with arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the Northside Chapel First Church of God.  Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent by visiting www.gsbfuneralhome.com.
