Mike W. Roberts, Jr.

Mike W. Roberts, Jr., age 52, of Somerville, OH passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at his home. He was born August 3, 1973 in Middletown, OH.

Mike graduated from Preble Shawnee High School in 1991, and later coached baseball for them. He worked for Oats Overnight in West Chester as a maintenance supervisor. He had over 35 years of public safety experience with several fire departments, including West Elkton, Gratis Township, Gasper Township and St. Clair; and he was a past chief of the Camden fire department. He also was formerly a deputy sheriff for Preble County. His faith was important to him, and he was a devoted member of the Southbrook Church in Miamisburg. Some of his favorite things to do included fishing, boating, and derbying, as well as duck and goose hunting. He cherished his family, friends and his golden doodles, Duke “Dukus” and Nala. Most of all, Mike was a wonderful friend and a loving father and he will be missed dearly.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Ellen Roberts in 2025.

He is survived by his sons Brandon (Abby) Roberts and Jeffrey (Lessly) Roberts; father Michael Roberts, Sr; grandchildren Korbyn, Preston, Cooper, Waylon, Cohen, Kolsen, Gabriel and Della; fiancée Julie Jewell and her children Saylor (Clay) Smith, Rylee Jewell, Campbell Jewell and Foster Jewell; brother Henry (Beth) Roberts; sister Teri Roberts; nephew Daniel Roberts; and nieces Abigail, Kendall and Madelyn Roberts.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Eaton Community Church, 813 Camden Road, Eaton, OH. A funeral service for Mike will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 27, 2026 also at the church. Burial will follow at Fairmound Cemetery in West Elkton, OH.
