Nancy Gay Chatfield

Nancy Gay (Ellis) Chatfield, age 84, of Eaton, OH passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born December 13, 1936 in Anderson, IN to the late Ernest Ray Ellis and Dorothy Gladys (Farrell) Ellis. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her adoptive mother Eva Sauer Hampton and daughter Catherine Alice (Chatfield) Schnehain. She is survived by her husband Gene Chatfield; sons Keith (Tammy) Chatfield and Thomas (Linda) Chatfield; daughter Deborah Chatfield; son-in-law John Schnehain; grandsons Douglas and Michael; granddaughters Samantha (Matt) and Kacie; and great-grandson Rhett. Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an accomplished musician and church organist and accompanist for more than 50 years. Nancy was also a great teacher who worked in various roles for special education in Preble County. A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will take place at a later date.
