Ora McGuire

April 3, 1918 — January 15, 2012

McGUIRE, Ora, age 93 of West Alexandria, formerly of Eaton, OH. passed away peacefully, Sun. Jan. 15, 2012 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Dean Evans.  He was born in Dayton, OH. on April 3, 1918 to Garrett and Marvel (Dowell) McGuire. He married his late wife, Betty Marie Grant on Feb. 21, 1942. Ora and Betty lived in Preble County most of their married life.  They also lived in Coldwater, MI. for 10 years, where Ora enjoyed hours of fishing on the lake in front of their home.  Ora worked as a machinist for 45 years.  Ora and Betty retired back in Preble County, where Ora enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, sons-in-law and grandsons. He was a WWII Army veteran and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a precious gift to all who knew him.  Everyone was his "Buddy".  All who met him loved him instantly; his sense of humor and love for everyone he knew will never be matched. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty McGuire.  He is survived by 6 children,  sons, Kenneth McGuire, Ft. Walton Beach, FL., Kord (Pat) McGuire, West Alexandria, OH., Kim (Penny) McGuire, Eaton, OH.,  daughters, Karen (Eddie) Schomburg, Eaton, OH., Kathy (Dean) Evans, West Alexandria, OH., Kris (Dave) Smith, Aurora, IN.,  11 grandchildren,  23  great grandchildren,   12 great great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Edna Jones, Eileen McClain and Norma Short, all of Morriston, TN.  Also deceased were his parents, 2 brothers, Estel McGuire and Dale McGuire and a sister, Marie Lamb.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thurs. Jan. 19, 2012 at Eaton Baptist Temple, 416 E. Decatur St., Eaton, OH. 45320 with  Rev. Lowell Spencer      officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.  Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For condolences: www.lindloffzimmerman.com
