Phillip G. "Bingo" Wright

Phillip G. “Bingo” Wright, age 82, of Eaton and formerly of West Alexandria, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton.  He was born October 15, 1941 in Richmond, IN.  He was a member of the West Alexandria Church of the Brethren; was a self-employed plaster for 30 years and was later a maintenance worker and bus driver for 16 years at Twin Valley Schools where he became a member of the Hall of Fame for service; he coached little league baseball in West Alexandria for 8 years; was an avid Twin Valley South sports fan; and most of all enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.  He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Mildred Combs; step brothers James Combs, Edward “Hank” (Margaret) Combs and Bob (Mabel) Combs; and sister-in-law Lois Combs.  He is survived by his wife Judy L. Wright of Eaton; daughters Tammy (Rick) Newsock of Xenia and Amy (Mike) Ehler of West Alexandria; son Frank (Teresa) Wright of Eaton; grandchildren: Blake (Chelsea) Newsock, Ashley (Andy) Collins, Zach (Cheyenne) Newsock, Nicole (Clint) Spitler, Chad Ehler, Madison Wright, Megan Wright and Macy Wright; great grandchildren: Kennedy Collins, Nolan Collins, Aurora Collins, Scarlett Collins, Braeson Newsock, Briar Newsock; stepbrothers Marvin (Bonnie) Combs and Bud Combs; stepsister Marion “Sis” Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH.  Visitation will also be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in West Alexandria.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the Preble County Council on Aging, 800 E.
