Phyllis Jean Colwell

Phyllis Jean Colwell, age 76, of West Alexandria, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.  She was born August 22, 1943 in Sciota County, OH to the late Ervin and Mary Keaton.  Jean was a former pre-school teacher at the Headstart Program in Gratis.  She was a member of Glory Light Chapel Ministry.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and dedicated homemaker for many years. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters: Judy Stoner, Susie Keaton and Laura Mae Miller; brother Mike Keaton; and infant brother Stanley Keaton.  She is survived by her children: Tammy (Scott) Barnett of Camden, Renee Browning (Freddie Perry) of Gratis, Rich (Bekah) Meeks of West Alexandria, Robert Meeks of West Alexandria and Beth Dickerson of Lewisburg; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brother Richard (Brenda) Keaton of Xenia; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 67 West Dayton Street, West Alexandria, OH.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in West Alexandria.  Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent to the family by visiting www.lindloffzimmerman.com.
