Ralph Maggard

Ralph Maggard, age 87, of Milford, OH and formerly of Eaton OH, passed away March 18, 2023 at Forest Hills Care Center in Cincinnati, OH.  He was born February 27, 1936 in Dayton, OH to the late Leonce & Zelma (Pratt) Maggard.  Ralph was a graduate of Monroe High School, class of 1954, where he was very active in sports and FFA.  After high school, he completed a four-year Sheet Metal Apprenticeship from General Motors. He retired as a General Foreman at the early age of 55 from General Motors after 37 years of service. During these years, he met and married June Cabaniss, daughter of the late Henry and Opal (Geeting) Cabaniss. The couple married on August 25, 1956, celebrating 66 eventful years of fun, friends and traveling. “A devoted husband and father who loved playing sports, softball, basketball, bowling, horseshoes, euchre, spending time outdoors, camping, gardening and fishing ANY chance he could…”, but most important was spending time with his family!!!   He was preceded in death by his parents Leonce & Zelma Maggard; sister Norma; and brothers Harold (Barb) Maggard, Mitch Maggard & infant Carson Maggard.  Survivors include his wife June Maggard of Milford OH; daughter Christy (Kevin) Larrison of Cincinnati, OH; son Bret Maggard of Eaton, OH; grandchildren Cassidy (Justin) Felts of New Richmond , OH, Corey (Alex) Larrison of Cincinnati OH, Molly ( Daniel) Adams of Eaton, OH and Bo (Arah) Maggard of Dayton, OH; great grandchildren Cincy, Natalie, Lincoln and Jaxson Felts of New Richmond, OH, Calvin and Iris Larrison of Cincinnati, OH, Kingston Shafer, Mia Lilli, Keaton Adams of Eaton OH and Penn Maggard of Dayton, OH; brothers Les (Cindy) Maggard of Eaton, OH and Kenneth (Rebekah) Maggard of Wilmington, OH; sister Lydia Burnett of Eaton, OH; sister-in-law Margaret Maggard of Lewisburg, OH; and also many nieces, nephews and GREAT friends!  Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 1:00 pm until time of funeral service at 2:30 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH with Dr. Rev.
