Rayburn J. Pence, age 89, of Eaton, OH, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. He was born November 4, 1933 in Eaton, OH to the late Hershel and Dorothy (Shumaker) Pence. Rayburn was a U.S Army Veteran that served during the Korean War. He was a truck driver for 50 plus years for Barnets, Inc. in Camden, OH. Rayburn always had a smile and a colorful story for anyone he met. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed antique tractors; watching college basketball and the Cincinnati Reds; and most of all spending time with family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Ramona (Black) Pence; second wife Sandra (Juday) Pence; sons Douglas and Phillip Pence, and grandsons Matthew Pence and Jeffrey Pence. He is survived by his sons Chris (Cheryl) Pence, Teddy (Jodi) Pence, Marty (Linda) Collins and Chuck Anderson; daughters Cynthia (Greg) Roberts, and Keri (Bill) McQuiston; daughter-in-law Mary Pence; bonus son Billy Moore; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and special friend Phyllis Teaford. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 pm at Twin Creek Chapel Cemetery in West Manchester. OH.
