Rhonda F. Winings

Rhonda F. Winings, age 44, of Eaton, OH, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Hospice of Dayton.  She was born September 8, 1978, in Columbus, OH.  She was a 1996 graduate of Bath High School in Lima, OH, earned her Bachelor's Degree from Bowling Green State University while playing 4 years of softball and 1 year as “Frieda the Falcon” and later earned her Master’s Degree from University of Cincinnati.  Rhonda began her career at Eaton Community Schools in 2001 and taught at Eaton High School and Eaton Middle School.  The past two years she served as the Dean of Students at Eaton Middle School.  Throughout her 22 year career, Rhonda was very active outside of the classroom coaching softball and volleyball. She also served as a Class Advisor, Yearbook Advisor, tutor, and History Department Head.  She did all this along with being a very active mother in anything that Theo, Gavin and Emra were involved in.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Ron and Emra “Jean” Miller, paternal grandparents Gerald and Laura Fett; and father-in-law Bryan Winings.  She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 22 years Chuck Winings of Eaton; children Theo Winings, Gavin Winings and Emra Winings all of Eaton; parents Dave and Cheri Fett of Lima; sisters Melissa (Bob) Morton of Defiance and Stephanie (Dana) Miller of St. Marys; mother-in-law LuAnn Winings of Lima; sisters-in-law Kristi (Jim) Davis of Lima and Lisa Bridges of Lima, nieces and nephews: Mallory Morton, Cooper Morton, Maddie Morton, Kirsten (Tyler) Millhouse, Jenna (Chance) Daisy, Lauren Miller, Jared Davis, Alex Davis, Caylee Bridges, Cayleb Bridges, Cayden Bridges and Caylin Bridges.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 1:00 to 7:00 pm at the Eaton Community Church, 813 Camden Road, Eaton, OH.  A memorial service for Rhonda will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, September 8, 2023, also at the Eaton Community Church, Eaton, OH.  Gard Funeral Home, Eaton, OH is assisting with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial contributions may be sent to the Winings Children Education Fund, ℅ 5/3 Bank, 1604 N.
