Robert Vernon “Bob” Turpin, age 79, of Eaton, OH, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Kettering Health Dayton. He was born November 29, 1945 in Middletown, OH to the late Cecil and Stella (Combs) Turpin. Bob was a 1963 graduate of Gratis High School where he played basketball and baseball; he was an avid U.K. Wildcats fan; he enjoyed farming and was a John Deere collector; served in the Ohio National Guard for many years; was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in West Alexandria; and worked for Weyerhaeuser Company in Eaton and later retired from Victory Wholesale Foods in Springboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Loy Renee’ Turpin; and brother-in-law Gorman Dull. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Loretta Turpin of Eaton; son Rob (Candi) Turpin of Lakengren; grandchildren Mackenzie Lane Turpin of Houston, TX and Harlie (Nathan) Favorite of Eldorado; great grandson Henry Favorite of Eldorado; sister LouAnn Dull of Lakengren; brother John Turpin of Nevada; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery in West Alexandria, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Preble County, PO Box 72, Eaton, OH 45320 or charity of donor’s choice.
