Ronald L. Hensel, age 84, of West Manchester, OH passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2026 into the arms of Jesus at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. He was born May 13, 1942 in Richmond, IN to the late Marvin and Donna (Armstrong) Hensel.
He was a 1960 graduate of Monroe High School. He started his career as a mechanic at Geeting Auto; then drove a Tanker Semi-Truck for Sun Oil company for 30 years, driving over one million safe miles; and also farmed for many years with his father Marvin, retiring at the age of 75. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and taking many day trips. He was most proud that he lived in West Manchester for his entire life. He enjoyed spending the winter months in Lake Placid, FL for 27 years. And most of all, he dearly loved the Lord and enjoyed the gospel music of Greater Vision.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Karen Hensel in 2022.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne Alverson of West Manchester and Fishers, IN; son Keith (Carol) Hensel of West Manchester; daughters Karolyn (Russ) Stipek of Butler Township and Kathy (Rodney) Shelley of West Manchester; stepchildren Julia (Mark) Bartlow of Bloomfield, IN and Jon (Myranda) Alverson of Fishers, IN; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren and 17 step great grandchildren; and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 from 3:00 pm until time of memorial service at 6:00 pm at the Castine Church, 624 US 127, Castine, OH 45304 with Pastor Greg Hyre officiating where Ron was a proud member. A private interment will take place at Wares Chapel Cemetery in West Manchester. Gard Funeral Home, Eaton is assisting with arrangements.
