Ronald J. Mickelson

Ronald J. Mickelson, age 77, of Eaton, OH passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026. He was born July 11, 1948 in Michigan to the late Jerome and Alvera (Ososky) Mickelson. Ron was born and raised in Michigan where he swam for Oakland University and later became a biology teacher and swim coach. He was very popular with his students and swimmers, many he kept in touch with throughout his life. After meeting and marrying Beth, many summers were spent on the lake with family and friends that became family. He truly believed the more the merrier and loved being able to share his home with others, especially around a bonfire. He went on fishing trips as often as possible and enjoyed woodworking and the companionship of his beloved dogs. Ron’s faith was central to him; his morning coffee was often enjoyed in his recliner with a devotional & Bible. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers “Biker Bob” Mickelson and Danny Mickelson.He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Beth Mickelson; children Jennifer (Chris) Bianchi, Bryan (Anny) Hucke, Chris (Natalie) Hucke and Matthew (Bridget) Hucke; sisters Sue (Byron) George and Linda Mickelson; brother Dave (Vicky) Mickelson; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 12:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 123 West Decatur Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Annie Melick officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ron’s memory to Camp Corwood, a youth camp that is being revived where he was a counselor more than fifty years ago (www.corwoodexperience.com/donate).
