Ronald D. Van Oss

Ronald D. Van Oss, age 82, of West Alexandria, OH passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, OH.  He was born February 14, 1939 in Dayton, OH to the late Linus and Alvena Van Oss, Sr.   He was a 1958 graduate of Northridge High School and a 1984 graduate from ITT technician college at the top of his class.  He was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.  He ran the games for the West Alexandria Oktoberfest from 1972 to 2020.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred “Millie” Van Oss of West Alexandria; children: Chris (Rick) Eby, Tina (Gary) Derrickson, Michael Van Oss, Barb Boggs, Steven Van Oss, Tracy (Tremain) Tillman; 20 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home (formerly Lindloff-Zimmerman), 67 W. Dayton Street, West Alexandria.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Visitation Catholic Church, 407 East Main Street, Eaton, OH with Father David Doseck officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.pancan.org. Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent by visiting www.gardfuneralhome.com.

Chris....sorry to hear of your dads passing....like i told you at his viewing...i really liked working with Ron.........and i do remember him enjoying peanut butter cheese crackers and a cup of water....i also remember taking him home from work (2nd shift ) ...he told me to turn my headlights on....( the old Ford)....and i said they're already on Ron,.....he was a great guy
