Sherry Lynn Schilling age 70 of West Manchester, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 20th, 2025 at Reid Hospital of Richmond. She was surrounded by her loving family. Sherry was born on May 23, 1955 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Albert and Isa Roth. She was a 1973 graduate of National Trail High School.
She was a devoted homemaker who filled her home with love, laughter and the smell of a fresh cup of coffee. She adored her family especially her children and grandchildren and took great joy in the simple things like time spent with loved ones. Her marriage to Billy was a lifelong love story. They were rarely apart and before Billy's retirement she eagerly awaited his daily lunch and break time calls.
She had a strong faith in God and knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was deeply devoted to her family through life's joys and challenges, including the profound loss of her daughter Angel, a sorrow that left an enduring impact on her life. She was vibrant and engaged in the lives of those around her with a keen interest in the details that made each person story unique. She faced health challenges with determination, and after receiving a kidney transplant she enjoyed a renewed sense of hope and was forever grateful to her donor.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her daughter Angel Lee Schilling, mother-in-law Marjorie (Robert) DeGarmo, sisters Rita Hook, Darla (Bob) Patton, and Marla (Hamp) Dunn. Sister-in-laws Brenda Caudill and Barbara Bourne, and brother-in-law David Schilling.
She is survived by her loving family, including her husband of 43 years Billy Schilling, daughter Melissa (Tommy) Callahan of Richmond,Indiana, her grandchildren Taume Lynn Callahan of Brookville, Ohio, and Kaeden R. Callahan of Richmond Indiana, brother-in-law William “Bill” (Barbara) Schilling of Lewisburg Ohio and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. The funeral service for Sherry will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 24, 2025 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gratis, OH.
