Shirley Ann Black

June 14, 1965 — March 23, 2026

Eaton, OH

Shirley Ann Black, age 60, of Eaton, OH passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2026. She was born on June 14, 1965 in Oxford, OH.

To know Shirley was to love Shirley. She was loud, loving and full of life. Shirley was a 1983 graduate of Eaton High School. If you knew her you knew she loved her lawn. That love spilled over into her love for her job at LawnPlus, where she was an employee for many years. She was a dedicated employee and even better friend. Shirley loved a cold beer and a beautiful day to sit on the porch with friends and family. She was also an avid sports fan, rooting for the Bengals, Reds and the Buckeyes, as well as being a longtime fan of NASCAR. Many of you will know how much she loved to cook and bake, especially at Christmas time. But before anything else, Shirley loved her kids and grandkids. She will always be remembered by the countless memories we have of her as the best mom and grandma.

Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Joe Black; maternal grandparents Gene and Verse Moore; paternal grandparents William and Frances Black; and aunt Connie Smith.

She is survived by her mom Patty Perry of Eaton; brother Mike (Amy) Black of Eaton; son Billy (Jennifer) Wright of Eaton; daughter Frannie (Nathan) Rinehart of Clayton, OH; her 5 grandchildren, Abbey, Landon and Chase Wright, and Paisley and Noah Huffman, whom she loved so very much. She is also survived by her niece Dana (Ryan) Brooks and nephew Allen Gard, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews, and too many friends to count.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 4:00 pm until the time of the Celebration of Life at 7:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Andrew Stensaas officiating.
