Shirley Ann Hickle

Shirley Ann Hickle, age 89 of Eaton, OH passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at the Vancrest of Eaton Healthcare Center. She was born March 7, 1937 in Dayton, OH to the late Fred and Florence (Pierce) Brewster.

Shirley graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton. She worked for the Preble County probate court as a clerk for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed square dancing, collecting antiques, and spending time with her beloved family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John R. Hickle; sisters Pauline Kelley, Esther Mustard, Hazel Wynn, Doris Brewster, and Dorothy Comer; brothers Charles Brewster and Dale Brewster; daughter-in-law Linda Hickle; and one great grandson.

She is survived by her daughter Terri (Mark) Ahlersmeyer of Eaton; sons Wade (Sue) Hickle of Howell, MI and Jeff Hickle of Eaton; eleven grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. A private burial will take place at Sugar Grove Cemetery in West Alexandria.
