Shirley Lynn Poos

Shirley Lynn Poos, age 73 of Eaton, OH passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Kindred Hospital in Dayton, OH. She was born October 4, 1945 in Middletown, OH. She was a Charter Member of the Northside Chapel First Church of God in Camden, OH, where she taught Sunday School for 35 years. She was an avid collector of cookie jars, salt and pepper shakers and Nutcrackers. Her favorite Christmas song was “Hard Candy Christmas” by Dolly Parton. She was preceded in death by her first husband John Owens; and infant son Richard Andrew Owens. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Dale Poos of Eaton, OH; daughter and son-in-law Darlene and Nelson Weatherly of Eaton, OH; grandchildren: Brooklyn Barnes and Sawyer Barnes; sisters-in-law: Carol Ward of Eaton, OH, Wilma (William) Summers of New Haven, CT, Jo Ann Mackenzie of Surrey, BC and Melinda Faye of Albuquerque, NM; brother-in-law Lawrence (Nellie) Poos of Chevy Chase, MD; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton with Pastor Jerry Carter officiating. Burial will be at Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
