Dear Winn Family, I was so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. My only point of reference regarding memories is of our childhood and growing up in the same neighborhood on East Main Street for a short while and attending school until my family moved way during my sophomore year of high school in 1984, I now reside in Dallas, Texas. Steve, my classmates and Eaton are some of the good/fun memories from those formative years. He was a good guy back in the school days and always had the best smile. When I happen to run into him some 10 or 12 years back and chatted with him briefly, he still seemed to be that good guy with a great smile. I am sorry for your loss. Peace and Blessings to you all during this difficult time. Michelle "Howard" Pak

Brad and I were so saddened to hear of Steves passing. He had such an infectious smile and always made you feel like the most important person in the room when you were with him. So full of life and taken from his family and community much too soon. Prayers of comfort are with you all.

Senior year of high school, 1986 at the Talawanda Relays Track Meet our number 2 and 3 pole vaulters were out of town. Coach McCollum paired me with Steve since the two participants height was added together. I couldnt clear the opening 6 ft height and registered a 0. You cleared 12 feet and carried us to second place. You rose above many and carried many with you to higher ground. Rest in Peace Brother.

The last time I saw Steve was at Aunt Lexie's funeral. It was great to connect with him, introduce him to my wife & daughter and get updated on his life. His death is a shock to the entire extended family. On behalf of the California branch of the family, please know prayers are in abundance.

I have so many fond memories of Steve from years gone by. Our paths crossed again when we were dealing with the loss of our mother, helping us work thru our difficult time. It was like no time had pasted, still a wonderful person, with that big smile. My prayer to the whole family.
