I recently learned of Vanessas passing, and wanted to share a couple thoughts. I only knew Vanessa professionally, working with her through Recovery and Wellness Center. I could tell Vanessa truly loved her work both in recovery and in teaching. Vanessa was involved in teaching a segment of Critical Incident Training, CIT for first responders on Emotional Survival for First Responders. Vanessa shared her personal experience with family in law enforcement. What she spoke about I connected with at different times of my 30 years of Law Enforment experience. I once told her I could add to her research once I was retired. Im certain Vanessa is greatly missed by her coworkers, the people she helped & treated, and we all will have lost the amazing things that she had left in her to share and heal. Lt. David M. Vanessa was truly a good person. She helped me through some dark times in my life. For that I will be forever grateful. It sometimes seems unfair that God takes a real blessing from us but it seems he needed her closer by his side. Thank you Vanessa for everything you did in the short time we were blessed to know and have you. Go rest high on that mountain. God bless.
