Vera Viola Lahman

Vera Viola (Denlinger) Lahman, third daughter of Ray and Angela (Kimmel) Denlinger was born April 29, 1928 in Preble Co. near New Paris, Ohio.   She passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024 at the home of her daughter near Arcanum, Ohio at the age of 96 years.   She grew up an only child on a farm on Pence Shewman Rd. She enjoyed her school mates and many friends for companionship. She graduated from Monroe Township School in 1946.  She answered the call of her Savior and was baptized on October 17, 1948 becoming a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Prices Creek district. She was anointed with oil in 2018 prior to a surgery.   On March 22, 1953 she was united in marriage to George W. Lahman, son of Samuel and Mahala (Denlinger) Lahman. Together they shared life’s joys and sorrows for 69 years. This union was broken when George passed away Jan. 26, 2023. They spent the first few months of their married life in the Donnels Creek district, then returned to the Prices Creek district to a farm on Kimmel Rd.  This union was blessed with 6 children. She treasured the gift of a large loving family and enjoyed hosting numerous gatherings and occasions for her Prices Creek family, friends, relatives and neighbors.  She is survived by her children Barbara (Charles) Beeghley, Phillip (Sandy) Lahman, Rita (Bruce) Turner, Russell (LuAnn) Lahman, sons-in -law Reyn (Sue) Angle and David Miller, 27 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, and was awaiting the soon arrival of her first great-great grandchild, one nephew Neal Basore and wife Phyllis and many other cousins and friends.   She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters; a stillborn infant and Vivian Lucille who died at birth, father and mother-in-law, daughters; Marilyn Angle and Carol Miller, grandson Justin Turner, half brother-in-law and sister-in-law Harry and Evelyn Basore, nephew, Otto Basore and wife Barbara.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the Prices Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 6223 State Route 726, Eldorado, OH. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the church.
